A few observations…
Lithuanians started strong. Physically and skill-wise. They showed dominance in the opener against Spain, especially on defence. Limiting World Champions to 14 points is really impressive. But each game was worse than the previous one, with the culmination against Thailand…

At the beginning, the new USA team showed nothing new… but at least the federation put some more serious stuff in place. If you haven’t visited the 3x-play website yet - do not wait any longer. Good job! Winning at Champions Cup can only make it more popular! BTW, we love this motto:
Two great teams showed what makes you great in 3x3. It is passing the ball. And great team pass like this:
Pierce Brothers are great, but the player who carries the team USA is James Parrott. He plays 1on1, shoots long 2s, rebounds, assists and blocks - basically does everything that is needed exactly when it is needed. Caden Pierce played great, but MVP should go to Slim Reaper of 3x3!
The best women’s game was definitely the semi final. How often do we see the 22:20 final result?
Sandra Ygueravide was definitely the MVP of opening day in Bangkok. It is always a huge pleasure to watch her on and off the floor. We sat next to her during one of the tournaments - such a kind, calm, smiling and classy lady!

… and a crazy idea
We are not really sure what is the idea behind Champions Cup… probably to start a season on the highest possible level and gather (new) audience for the starting season. Which is not a bad idea!
But what do you think about adding to it (or replacing it) another event: Contenders Cup? Gathering the teams (not national teams), which are not in the top 10 of the current ranking? It potentially can address a few things at the same time:
giving the young teams opportunity to gather extra ranking points at the beginning of the season → more chance to fresh blood in World Tour
attract the fans even more, with the higher intensity games and new stars - younger teams are usually more hungry
limit the cost and increase the competitiveness at the same time
Think about it, FIBA3x3. It wouldn’t be the first idea you copied from us :)
